It is my mission to bring God's message to people everywhere. Porn is destroying families, relationships, and churches-yet people don't see it because it is the "secret sin". It's kept under cover in the darkness. Just like you would expect something from Satan to be. Everyone thought I was a great guy, but they didn't know my secret, hidden life. I have since devoted the remainder of my life to doing battle against this very strong tool of Satan.
Our heavenly Father blessed me abundantly while I was incarcerated for 3 years. I've come to accept the time I spent in prison as training and a preparation period for the ministry He has given me. He blessed me with a free in-depth Bible course that took 14 intensive months to complete. I jokingly say that this course normally would have taken 2 years to complete, but I just happened to have a lot of time on my hands! Because of this course, I became licensed minister. After working with a senior pastor for a little over a year, I was fully ordained.
GOD CAN DO ANYTHING!
He brought me through my 40 years in the desert so that I would
finally be ready to serve Him. I went from being that lukewarm Christian I spoke of to being a devoted servant of God.
Psalms 51:1-4 says: "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy loving kindness, according unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee, Thee only have I sinned and done this evil in Thy sight. That Thou mightest be justified when Thou speakest and be clear when Thou judgest."
There is something much more powerful than psychological counseling. Coming to God in genuine repentance and opening ourselves up to Him at the deepest level of our lives is the key to healing.
We are like a house with many rooms. Sometimes we allow God into the living room of our heart, but we don't want Him in the basement or bedroom where all our junk is stored and where we keep our private sin. God wants us to cleanse the inner depths of our being. Go down into your basement and clean house! You might as well…God knows what's there, anyhow.
Psalm 19:12-13 says: "Who can understand his errors? Cleanse Thou me from secret faults. Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me; then shall I be upright and I shall be innocent from great transgression."
We can never begin to understand the depths of our own sin, let alone cleanse ourselves of it. If we truly want to lead a pure and sinless lives before God, we must be willing to allow His Word and the Spirit of God to examine our hearts, minds and our behavior. As we do this, our sins are exposed in the light of God's Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit within us we can confess those sins and turn away from them.
1 John 1:9 says that God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
In closing, please go back to Psalms 51, verses 12-13: "Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation and uphold me with Thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways and sinners shall be converted unto Thee."
When we allow truth to go into our inward parts, that is, when we open ourselves to God's process of sanctification, then we experience lasting inner freedom and release. We will discover the kind of joy that David talked about when he said, "Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean."
"Wash me and I will be whiter than snow."
"Make me hear joy and gladness."
Could you use some joy and gladness in your life?
David's prayer of repentance remains on record as a tearstained testimony of his brokenness before God and as instruction for all others who sin. But realize this: David's repentance did not stem from fear of punishment or concern about his future success. He repented because he had offended God!
David realized that he had foolishly squandered something very precious and he cried out for restored fellowship with God. Although his heart was crushed by shame and sorrow over sin, he knew how great God's mercy was. Once his sins were confessed, forgiven and purged David dared to ask for God's choicest gifts: JOY, RESTORATION, GOD'S PRESENCE and HIS HOLY SPIRIT!
THEN he humbles himself to be as an instrument to show forth God's praise and to teach other transgressors!
